Rick Kelley, administrative nurse manager, Emergency Department, recently was recognized by Columbus Business First as a Health Care Heroes honoree in the Manager category. Rick’s engaging leadership style and his success in managing 150 associates was just one highlight of his nomination.

Rick has been instrumental in shaping patient care in the ED at Grant. He helped create a designated area of the ED solely for treating patients with minor ailments and injuries that reduced wait times. He also helped the staff adjust the admissions process for ED patients from nine to six hours and to reduce the average length-of-stay by 21 minutes. This not only ensures more efficient patient flow and use of resources, but it also increases patient satisfaction.

Rick’s dedication to patient care and quality leadership has led to policies and practices that have significantly impacted the ED at Grant. Congratulations, Rick!
