Class Cancellations

With clinical guidance and public health considerations, along with keeping your health and well-being at the forefront, we are continuing to take appropriate measures to protect our patients and each other.

OhioHealth EMS is handling class cancellations on a case by case basis to ensure we are complying with the Ohio governor’s order to not have a mass gathering of more than 50 people.  If other events are cancelled, we will notify you by email for events where you are registered.

In the meantime, if you have questions about a specific class or education for EMS overall, please don’t hesitate to call us at (614) 566.9111. We want to support you in the best way possible.

Congratulations to Drs. Eric Cortez and Robert Lowe, Medical Directors

We are excited to share that Eric Cortez, MD, FACEP, FAEMS has been announced as the new medical director for Emergency Medical Services at OhioHealth. Dr. Cortez has been with OhioHealth for more than five years. He has worked collaboratively with Columbus Fire, OhioHealth and other healthcare systems to advance prehospital care, EMS education and prehospital process improvement in central Ohio.  He will be replacing Robert Lowe, MD, FACEP, FAEMS.

Dr. Lowe has accepted a position with the City of Columbus as its medical director. We are happy to say that he will continue to provide care in the emergency department at OhioHealth Doctors Hospital, and will continue to be a part of the residency and education program.

Join us in thanking Dr. Lowe for his years of service and congratulating Dr. Cortez on his new position. We know they will both do great things in the next steps of their journeys!
