Escaping Violent Encounters for EMS and Fire is a highly participatory 2-day Escaping Violent Encounters for EMS and Fire is a two-day course designed to educate EMS and Fire personnel on the differences between a patient and an attacker.  Learn tactics in assault prevention and de-escalation.  In addition to hands-on training, you will learn liability-conscious techniques for defense and escape.

This must needed educational offering is being presented to you by Kelly Austin, VP-Training and Senior Risk Manager of KLA Consulting and OhioHealth EMS.

Classes are scheduled for October 8-9, 2015 at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital and November 2-3, 2015 at OhioHealth Grady Memorial Hospital.

Class size is limited to twelve participants. Early registration is encouraged.

Temporary Ambulance Access Change at Dublin Methodist on May 13-14, 2015

Starting Wednesday, May 13 through Tuesday, June 30, work will begin in a phased approach to update landscaping in front of the hospital, as well as road improvements, paving and sealing project work in the lots and roadways around the hospital.

Phase I impact will occur on May 13 and 14 to complete road improvements along the connector roadways from Hospital Drive to the Dublin Methodist and in the rear associate parking lot (weather permitting).  See map below.

Emergency traffic coming from Perimeter Loop into the Dublin Methodist Emergency Department (ED) will be impacted on Wednesday, May 13. Signage will be placed and OhioHealth staff will be assisting with re-routing emergency vehicles into the ED.

Congratulations to Lisa Biegler, CNO, Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital

OhioHealth names Chief Nursing Officer for Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial Hospitals

Lisa Biegler, RN, BSN, MBA, has been named chief nursing officer (CNO) for Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital. She will begin her new role on Mar.19.

As CNO, Lisa will be responsible for leading efforts to enhance the operational effectiveness of clinical services and programs, while delivering exceptional patient experiences and quality care at both hospitals.

She will also play an integral role in building and maintaining collaborative relationships between the nurses and medical staff.

Biegler first joined OhioHealth in 2007 as director of Heart Services at Grant Medical Center. Since then, she has also become responsible for Endoscopy and the Neuro Medical Stroke Unit.

“Although I will miss my Grant Medical Center family, I am honored to be selected to serve the nursing communities at Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial Hospitals,” said Biegler of her new role.

Prior to joining OhioHealth, Biegler worked for over 30 years in healthcare, bringing with her experience including leadership roles at Children’s Hospital in Columbus and Genesis Health Care System in Zanesville.

Biegler received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Findlay. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Lisa lives in Cambridge, Ohio with her husband, Kent. They have two sons, Scott and Kyle. Lisa will be establishing a second residence in Dublin, Ohio.
