The John P. Moore Memorial EMS Award for Excellence
Background
John P. Moore was an invaluable member of the OhioHealth Grant Medical Center family. For 25 years, John served as a part- time paramedic instructor at Grant, and was one of three paramedic instructors for the Columbus Division of Fire. John dedicated his professional life to the continued success of the Grant Trauma program and Grant’s LifeLink program. His contributions to the improvement of care for pre-hospital patients through his efforts at the Columbus Division of Fire, Grant LifeFlight, Grant LifeLink and Grant’s Paramedic School are invaluable.
Description
To pay honor to John’s memory, OhioHealth is proud to present The John P. Moore Memorial EMS Award for Excellence. This prestigious award is bestowed annually upon an Ohio Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
It serves to recognize, appreciate, and celebrate the recipient’s accomplishments and contributions, as demonstrated through their actions as an EMS advocate, educator, leader, mentor or provider.
Eligibility Criteria
A nominee for The John P. Moore Memorial EMS Award for
Excellence must:
+ Be an EMS provider, with a current and valid certification issued by the State of Ohio, Division of EMS as an Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic; and
+ Be an EMS provider with no disciplinary actions against them by the Ohio State Board of Emergency Medical Services; and
+ Be a member in good standing of a recognized EMS organization that responds to emergencies and other requests, including those made by the public-at-large; and
+ Meet the spirit of the award description

A maximum of three attachments may be included as part of this nomination packet. The attachments may contain examples of the nominee’s work or other supportive items, including letters-of-recommendation.

Excellence in EMS Medical Direction Award
Background
The Medical Director serves a critical role in the delivery of emergency medical services, clinical integration with healthcare systems, community health management, clinical quality and patient safety, emergency medical dispatch, training and education, and clinical operations.
A deep understanding of the emergency medical services system and its people are a must. An engaged medical director serves as a role model, subject matter expert, researcher, risk manager, data analyst, facilitator, liaison, and much more. Today’s EMS professionals demand and deserve quality, dedicated face-time with medical directors.

Franklin County Firefighters | Grant Medical Center EMS Education Alumni Luncheon
Graduates, students, advisory board members, faculty and staff of the Franklin County Firefighters/OhioHealth Grant Medical Center EMS Education EMT and paramedic schools are invited to attend a private luncheon from 12:15 PM through 1:30 PM on each day of the conference, to celebrate the successes of our program and its people. The tie between our students, those past, present and future, forms a solid foundation that contributes to an environment of professionalism, camaraderie and lifelong learning among EMS professionals throughout the state.
