Below is a message from Director Rucker.
Dear Fire/EMS Community:
September 11, 2011 will mark the ten-year anniversary of 9-11 with many activities taking place throughout this country in its remembrance. The Ohio Department of Public Safety along with its state and local partners will host statewide activities to reflect on this poignant moment in history and the important message of national preparedness.
The Division of EMS is currently seeking those fire and EMS personnel who may have responded to the recovery efforts for 9-11, traveling to New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. We would like to highlight a few of these personal experiences in a short film project and promote during National Preparedness Month, raising awareness of the bravery, dedication and service of our EMS personnel during our country’s most vulnerable moment.
If you participated in recovery efforts during 9-11 and would like to share your story, please contact China Dodley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614-466-2551. Because we will narrow our final selection to six participants, please submit your request no later than April 30, 2011.
Thank you in advance.
