Grant Vascular Surgery ranked No. 1 in the nation

OhioHealth Grant Medical Center’s Vascular Surgery program has been ranked No. 1 in the nation for medical excellence by CareChex, a national healthcare quality rating service and a division of one of the nation’s largest privately held healthcare information service companies.
Grant’s Vascular Surgery program earned the highest score in the nation based on a system that integrates several quality indicators into a single, multi-dimensional composite score and rating. During the three-year time period evaluated, Grant surgeons performed more than 4,000 vascular procedures.
Quality measures evaluated were:
+ Inpatient Quality Indicators (in-hospital deaths due to specific events, such as
myocardial infarction and stroke)
+ Patient Safety Indicators (specific adverse events or avoidable medical errors, such as
pulmonary embolism or infection)
+ Overall Risk-Adjusted Complication Rates
+ Overall Risk-Adjusted Mortality Rates
In a related award for Patient Safety, Grant’s vascular surgery program ranked in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide. These quality rankings reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence in Vascular Surgery.
