Mission:LifeLine STEMI Management Survey now Available for Ohio EMS Agencies

Mission: Lifeline is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to advance the systems of care for patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). The overarching goal of the initiative is to reduce death and disability for STEMI patients and improve quality of care.

The American Heart Association has the utmost respect for emergency medical service professionals.   You are critical to the success of an effective STEMI system of care. Whether serving densely populated metro areas, rural residents, or communities in between, EMS challenges are unique for each setting. The American Heart Association wants to help find solutions to overcome barriers to timely access to STEMI treatment and empower you to save more lives.

Ohio Mission: Lifeline is conducting a survey to ultimately help improve the response and treatment of STEMI patients.  This online survey asks questions about staffing, funding, training, and existing processes for handling patients who are experiencing a STEMI.  Your responses will provide valuable information to help the American Heart Association assess EMS needs for your area and across Ohio. The full assessment should be completed by the EMS director, medical director, or training officer for your agency/organization.  It should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete.

Please click on the link below to access the survey.  The survey is available online from February 1-14, 2010.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding the survey, please contact Lory Winland at (614) 396-4335 or lory.winland@heart.org .
