The OhioHealth Critical Care Fellowship program provides the new graduate RN with the opportunity to explore new challenges and learn new clinical skills. At OhioHealth, we believe in career development opportunities. Therefore, OhioHealth University has created a pathway for the new graduate RN to gain knowledge and competencies in critical care.
OhioHealth University offers this unique educational program designed to assist the new graduate nurse in the transition from student to professional clinician. The program incorporates a combination of classroom and hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art simulation lab in addition to clinical rotations in various critical care units.
The Critical Care Fellowship Requirements:
Submit an online application posted as Critical Care Fellowship Staff RN
Hold a valid Ohio RN license or be board eligible
Have less than one year of experience
Minimum GPA 3.0
Precepted clinical experience or hospital experience as a Patient Support Assistant (PSA), or equivalent
If all the above requirements are met, qualified prospects are sent a packet and are asked to submit:
An official transcript
Two clinical instructor references from Senior rotations
An essay describing their desire to become a critical care nurse
A short essay on 5 year goals
A professional resume
Once all materials are submitted to Human Resources and processed, qualified applicants are scheduled for a panel interview. Acceptance into the Critical Care Fellowship is based on the written documents submitted and the outcome of the panel interview.
